Sally’s daughter Margot is a bright, sporty school student with severe allergy to egg and nuts.
Sharing food
One day, Margot could not resist having a taste of her school friend’s pesto pasta during lunch break. But the food contained nuts and she felt unwell soon afterwards and had difficulty breathing.
Margot went to the office for help but was afraid to tell anyone that she had broken the school’s rule against sharing food.
Watch the video
Sally tells us in the video that she received a call from the school, but they did not know Margot had eaten nuts. As it turned out, that day was the first time Margot needed EpiPen®.
Sally’s message to parents and teachers is to reassure children that they will never get into trouble for making a mistake with the food they eat.
